- BIOCOMP studies how global biodiversity loss and climate change affect decomposer communities and forest carbon fluxes. Its Estonian study sites are integrated into the KÕPS system. The project is led by Sebastian Seibold at the University of Dresden.
- FutureScapes The Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Land Use (FutureScapes, 2024–2030) aims to uncover how biodiversity and carbon flows interact across Estonian ecosystems and to translate these insights into land-use decision support. Research within FutureScapes builds partly on measurements conducted in the KÕPS study sites, which serve as a core infrastructure for forest-related work. The centre is funded by the Ministry of Education and Research and the Estonian Research Council.
